At Apex Technical School, we seek experienced tradespeople to impart their knowledge and experience to students seeking new opportunities. No prior experience as an educator is required.
Our instructors come to us after spending years in the field. Some seek a new challenge as they reach retirement years. Some are not able to work full time in field conditions, but still have a lot to contribute.
We coach you on teaching fundamentals, and you’ll work with students in shop settings to prepare them for real-world experiences. Students are also taught theory, and we’ll guide you through that process.
We have locations in Long Island City, Queens, and Midtown East – both conveniently located near subway stations and commuter rail (Metro North and LIRR).
At Apex, you’ll work with professionals like Tom Tanski, who joined us after years in the field. An injury derailed his career as an electrician, and at Apex he found a second career as an instructor. Fifteen years later, he says “Teaching is the most rewarding job I ever had, and I can stall involved with the field I love.”
