PROTECTING PERSONAL STUDENT INFORMATION (PRIVACY POLICY)
At Apex, we are careful to protect the personal information of our students. We don’t share your private information, and we maintain an information security policy (privacy policy) in compliance with the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Graham-Leach-Bliley Act.
JEANNE CLERY CAMPUS SECURITY REPORT AND POLICY
The Apex security policies are designed to protect the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff and visitors, including providing timely notifications in safety emergencies. The Jeanne Clery Campus and Crime Report page also details the history of crimes and other offenses at our school over the past three calendar years.
APEX SECURITY CONTINUED – DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY
The employers that hire our grads are tough on drug abuse, and so are we. Apex Tech has a strong Policy on Drugs and Alcohol to protect the safety of our students, faculty and staff.
APEX TITLE IX POLICY & PROCEDURES
The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) enforces, among other statutes, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. Title IX protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive Federal financial assistance. Title IX states that: No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION
- STUDENT LOAN COUNSELING REQUIREMENTS
Apex Tech discusses these requirements in person with each prospective loan borrower. Students are also able to visit the online counseling processes at the Federal Direct Student Loan website. Students who have already completed the on-line process on the Direct Lending web site will be given an abbreviated in-person counseling session. - RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF STUDENT RECEIVING FINANCIAL AID

Our Financial Aid Officers are ready to help students through the entire financial aid process. However, students can also do it themselves or learn more about the financial aid application process and apply online.
STATEMENT OF CHARGES
The program net cost to you is dependent on what type of financial aid you qualify for. There are a number of factors to consider, it would be best to speak with our admissions and financial aid team regarding the statement of charges.
COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT POLICY
Apex Tech has a policy against copyright infringement, including the illegal downloading and/or sharing of electronic media files.
TRANSFER OF CREDIT POLICY
Our policy provides the student information on accepting credit for previous training, and a notice about the transferability of Apex Tech credits to other colleges.
SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS POLICY
It is important for students to understand the school’s academic policies. Apex Tech maintains academic standards and performance measures to ensure that our graduates are well prepared to succeed in the workplace.
HOW TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID

WITHDRAWAL, REFUND AND RETURN TO TITLE IV POLICIES
These policies are applicable for students who withdraw or otherwise fail to complete their program of study at Apex Tech.
FINANCIAL AID CODE OF ETHICS
Apex Tech has created a set of rules for our interactions with student loan lenders to ensure that our students are always given unbiased advice about education loan providers.
VOTER REGISTRATION
Apex Tech encourages students to be active participants in the American political system as part of being responsible members of their community. Further, each year, the school celebrates “Constitution Day” on September 17 and offers activities to educate our students about the U.S. system of government and their role within it.

VACCINATION POLICY
Apex Technical School is not required to collect documentation from students as proof for vaccination against measles, mumps, rubella or meningococcal disease. Apex encourages all students to be immunized against these communicable diseases. Visit the New York State Department of Health page for more information regarding recommended vaccinations.
SERVICES TO STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
Apex Technical School will make reasonable accommodations for students with documented disabilities in order to ensure students with disabilities have equal access and opportunity to pursue their educational goals. Specific accommodations are determined individually for each student and must be supported by appropriate documentation and/or evaluation of needs. It should be noted that due to the technical nature of our programs, some places within our facilities may not be accessible to mobility-impaired persons. PROGRAMS LEADING TO LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION
Apex Technical School’s programs are intended for entry-level positions into the trade that do not require state professional licensure in New York. There may be other licensures/application requirements on a local level or in other states, or for self-employment or more advanced positions, and our training may not prepare you for these.
