Put it all together with career training in welding! Our welding trade school began in October of 1979 and teaches skills for entry-level positions. At Apex Technical School, students will be taught the gas and electric welding processes, manual and automatic cutting techniques, blueprint reading for metal layout and fabrication including welding thin through thick metals, and exotic metals.
Many students wonder: How long is the welding program? Each division of the Combination Welding Technology program combines concepts in the classroom and practice in the shop for a total of 900 hours of training for skills that are needed on the job. Our class size of just 20 students creates a focused learning environment.

Wondering what to expect when you enroll in welding classes? The combination welding trade school at
Apex teaches about the four main types of welding.
Students will be taught to read blueprints and the trade math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of linear measurements. The use of fractions, decimals, and the metric system are all part of precision instrument applications.
The welding processes performed in this welding course concentrate on maintenance and repair welding techniques.
In this welding course, students will use AC, AC/DC welding machines to produce single pass, multiple pass, and multi-directional surfacing welds.
Students will be taught the set-up parameters and welding procedures for GMAW and FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding).
In this welding course, students will be taught the set-up parameters and welding procedures of GTAW and Plasma Arc Cutting (PAC).
This advanced welding course will cover the use of AC/DC welding equipment. All joint preparations are accomplished by either manual or automatic cutting equipment.
A combination welding training program provides hands-on learning to students who wish to pursue work in the welding trade. Apex’s welding trade school offers classes that help prepare students for an entry-level position in the field.
